The Trinity Thrift Shop’s mission is to raise funds to support outreach activities. Trinity’s outreach activities includes but are not limited to supporting Backpack Blessings, Springfield State Hospital, Route 1 Day Center, the American Rescue Mission and St. Silas Prison Ministry.
The Thrift Shop has two seasons for clothing: Fall/Winter and Spring/Summer. We typically offer Fall/Winter clothing from October through March and we offer Spring/Summer clothing from April through September. In addition, we have special seasonal displays (e.g. for Christmas, Mother’s Day). We always have a bag sale in which we sell paper grocery bags of clothing for a set price, immediately before the changeover to the next clothing season. Please check Craig’s List under “clothing by dealer” and the Church website for the exact dates of the bag sale.
The Thrift Shop accepts and sells clothing, books toys and other small household items. We accept donations of clean household goods and clothing when the shop is open. We also appreciate donations of clean and empty boxes. However, since we’re not open every day, please do not leave donations on the porch or at the church when the shop is closed. We will provide receipts for these tax deductible donations if the donor would like a receipt. We CANNOT accept most electronic and large items including, but not limited to, furniture, computers, televisions, baby strollers, play pens, etc. Also, please do not donate sets of encyclopedia, Reader’s Digest, magazines or hardback books.
Please note that the shop is closed on any Tuesday when the Howard County Public Schools open late or are closed. The shop is closed on Saturday if Howard Community College opens late or is closed for inclement weather.
